Artemisia

Artemisia is a ghek I Rebirthed™ some time ago. She is kinda of the reencarnation of a very old design i always loved.

Gheks are some personal species of mine. They arent really a species but more like a name for some creatures with a few common characteristics, like how "monster" is more of a concept than a strict species. It is unknown if they are mythical, alien, interdimensional or whatever. They carry a lot of stigma on their names and have some phoenix/genie characteristics, though each ghek is an indivudual with their own cryptid shit.

Artemisia is a type of ghek that if broken, will lose its corporeal form becoming a manifestation. This kind of ghek was "responsible" for giving gheks a bad name, as once a manifestation they will expand until they recover their physical form. Though not harmful to living beings, a manifestation territory will be filled of all its failed attempts to gain a body again, becoming some weird ass shit for those capable of seeing non-physical things. Those manifestations can be captured, becoming wishing devices, magic balls, energy amulets etc. Once a contained manifestation - be it in an amulet, totem or whatever, gheks can be consumed, regaining their corporeal forms and a new shape they can turn into.  Their power to create was highly sought after so those guys were hunted to an almost extinction, being tormented until broken and devoured in the belief that this would give the consumer necromantic powers and eternal life - what ended up killing the user instead. In the ends its not really their fault people wanted to take advantage of their weirdy shit, but their still carry the stigma and avoid letting others know they are gheks rather than any other critter since now all gheks are thought to be able to turn into manifestations.

Other than that, gheks are just happy cryptid fellas who will try to fit in whichever society they are into, often avoiding each other to not call attention.
